Point Tally (So Far)

Hi Colin, Dana, Karen, and Chris!

I first started listening at some point in 2015 and was introduced by my brother Colton. We were going through the Grand Tetons

In episode 159, Chris said someone should take a tally of all the points in all the episodes. Even though I had only listened to a few episodes at that point I decided I was going to be the one to do it! It took me a while to get around to it, but I started tallying on a sheet of paper in 2016 or 2017. I got pretty far but then I lost the sheet (or at that point, many sheets!) of paper I had the tallies on. I gave up for a while after that but around January of last year I decided to start again, and this time decided to keep track with a document in my phone so I wouldn’t be as likely to lose them again. It’s taken just over a year for me to have a complete number of all the points procured per person for every episode released so far. While I cannot say it is 100% accurate, I can say I did my very best and used my best judgement on a few questionable points to put these numbers together. 

So without further ado, let’s get into the numbers!

I’d like to start off with some honorable mentions. That is, guests on the show throughout the years. 

All with one point: we have Truman (From Episode 73: Lie, Cheat, and Steal), Chris Kohler Sr. and Pamela Kohler (Fun-Size Mini Show: Live From Chris’ Wedding! (And He Doesn’t Know Because It’s A Surprise)), and the “Voice From The Back” (Episode 163: GJB LIVE!)

Next, we have Regina (Episode 170: All Quiz Bo-Ho-Ho-Nanza!) with Four Points

Then we have Courtney (Episode 4: Thomas Butt-Headison and Other Invention Tales & Episode 5: ALL QUIZ BONANZA! #1 ) with Nine Points

And finally, we have Tyler Hinman (Episode 6: Word Nerds Rejoice!, Fun-Size Mini Show: Live From Chris’ Wedding (And He Doesn’t Know Because It’s A Surprise), and Episode 166: Nuzzles in Puzzles) with a total of 25 points!

And now, what we’ve all been waiting for, the total points for you four fantastic fascinating fact-finding friends! To begin we’ll start with a subtotal (there will be more to factor in after this).

Dana - with 1628 Points!

Karen - with 1794 Points!

Chris - with 1960 Points!

Colin - with 2294 Points!

Now here is where it gets a little more fun. Throughout the episodes you’ve all given various “gold stars”, bonus points, half points, fractional points, at least one “conditional semi-point”, and there has even been the occasional point subtraction. All these changed the scores of everyone in one way or another to varying degrees. 

Colin:
